If you spend too much time eating junk food it creates an appetite for healthy food. If you read only trashy magazines it creates an appetite for literature. If you see too much crass unjust disgusting undemocratic political behavior it creates an appetite for peaceful revolution

I have not seen the examples. People like their big gulps and Kardashians. Not me but I don't think those people are aching for my broccoli and Proust. People who believe Maddows Russiagate lies are comforted by her. Not many people push past their bias to explore that I've seen.

For sure, but you had that predilection. Multi-generations of families appreciate the Kardashians and would not appreciate the more subtle humor of the condescending Mr. Collins. However this is the zeitgeist. I can't be an Emperor telling Mozart his piece has too many notes.
