Adam Smith, the main architect of free market capitalism, said it “cannot exist outside an ethical context.” Whether capitalism, tech, govt or something else, everything will be dangerous until we replace the question “How much $ will it make?” with “Is it the right thing to do?”

Big leap from the greedy ego to the heart.

I agree, thanks. We have had over 50 years of idolization of wealth & fame and demonization of the public greater good & government coupled with defunding of public education. This nation has a giant hole that people try to fill with things & likes where meaning & love shld be

One of Smith’s critics wrote that modern capitalism has “conjured a gigantic” engine of productivity, “like a sorcerer who is no longer able to control the powers of the nether world whom he has called up by his spells”

LoL, "The main architect of free market Capitalism" is like calling Euclid "The main architect of early geometry", it betrays an overwhelmingly shallow understanding of both the topic and the history
