I don’t know what’s worse, that he says these things or that people actually cheer him when he does. Did these people never learn in school that in America we don’t do things like that? That when they happen it’s a bad thing, not a good thing? We want freedom, not a police state.

Frank Zappa's cynicism may not be to your taste, but I think we need to acknowledge the harsh truth he spoke. This was not obvious when he said it, but today it is clear he was absolutely right, just like Carlin & Bill Hicks.
