Those who say it’s hyperbolic to call Trump’s words & actions fascistic should perhaps read up on the history of Germany in the 20’s & 30’s - particularly the part where people said he was just joking, or he didn’t really mean it, or the country was strong enough to withstand it.

I've been learning about this stuff for a while but I found a youtube creator the other day who does a fairly brilliant job of illustrating parallels between Germany and America... his content is very well-informed and analytical, it's not a fun time tho! youtube.com/O8UzmLsXGRU

This is a cheap shot. There is enough reality to take on and disparage trump. Fear mongering plays into their narrative.

We're treading on thin ice today. The US certainly possess the conditions & momentum towards fascism. We're not there yet but getting closer everyday.

One of the drips is telling his people to commit the felony offense of voting twice - punishable by up to a $15,000 fine or up to 5 years imprisonment.

Yes! This! It's so hard to watch, I wish it was exaggeration and have in the past called people out for such comparisons, but this is spot on.

A German friend of mine told me that her parents were given a copy of Mein Kampf as a wedding present in 1930s. They never even bothered to read it! Illustrates the importance of citizens taking responsibility to read and inform themselves about political leaders.

Totally agree. We in the (almost as bad at the moment) UK are hoping and praying that American voters will end the nightmare this November. May love win!
