Those who say it’s hyperbolic to call Trump’s words & actions fascistic should perhaps read up on the history of Germany in the 20’s & 30’s - particularly the part where people said he was just joking, or he didn’t really mean it, or the country was strong enough to withstand it.

Its the drip, drip effect of it. At some point people realise they are up to their necks and it's too late.

Late in the war, Hitler said “The only way they could have stopped us was if they had come after us early, swift and hard.”

Yes exactly. I’ll drop this here for anyone who’s not yet seen it. Super quick and to the point TED explainer >
Hadn’t seen it this clear👇 youtube.com/jFICRFKtAc4 “In 1929 The Great Depression and the strong German economy collapsed overnight. Hitler took advantage of the people’s anger, offering them convenient scapegoats, and a promise to restore Germany to its former Greatness” 1/7

And yet Obama, a Democrat, laid the groundwork for Trump. Trump didn't spring up in a vacuum. I have to go back and re-read my books on Weimar Germany, but I am recollecting that were those who promoted Hitler as a counter to the Communists to their regret. Who promoted Trump?

Calling someone fascist is incitement of violence - the last thing we need these days. Besides, the evidence is in, it was a failed prediction every year 2016 - 2019, especially 2020 when Covid open doors wide open. Turns out Dem Governors (not Trump) abused their powers.

It seems to be true that as soon as the old generation that suffered and witnessed these events of war start to decline from age or as soon as the majority have left the planet... these mind-numbing facts also decline Our generation has left it’s civic duty inside an old dusty TV

Who is causing all the riots and violence in America ? Democratic’s who has basically done nothing to stop it ? Democratic’s who rejected help ? BLM and antifa are the brown shirts of the Democratic’s just like what happened in the 30’ s in Germany and not many are looking at it

Part fo the issue is the appeal of authoritarian leaders - a regression to childhood state of devotion, in which a powerful protective figure can take control of our lives. Same as the appeal of corrupt gurus. psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/…

Trump's too dumb, has no ideology, and isn't charismatic enough to pull off fascism in the US. Would a true fascist, charismatic ideologue be scary for the US? Yes. That person isn't Trump. The hyperbole is claiming that Trump can pull off fascist leadership; he can't.
