The question should not be “what it will cost us” to provide Medicare4All, college tuition, college loan debt cancellation etc. The question should be how much it has already cost us as a society that so many Americans live lives of chronic economic despair.

I think this is the point that we are not arguing enough. It isn’t just that these policies are morally correct, but they are also financially better. We should be arguing that it is far cheaper to address root causes than to bandage the symptoms on the other side of suffering.
