People who say “all you need is a change in consciousness” are privileged enough to have food on the table & a roof over their head; people who think all we need is political change underestimate the psychological & emotional forces that are roiling beneath the surface of things

A change in consciousness changes people's tactics in a political contest. Gandhi's movement, and the movement it inspired in MLK, worked because the consciousness of the movement had a solid spiritual base.

Maybe, but then when none of the parties offered to you have your interests in mind, and your vote is meaningless, are you supposed to keep going with the same system? That just increases the sub-surface tensions IMO

Every time Marianne Williamson speaks the unspeakable those so-called dark energies try to drown her out by getting louder & sounding more self assured. Noise is no competition for the real power of truth telling.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs shows that Before one can climb the ladder towards Self-Actualization basic needs for food, air, water, shelter & safety need to be met Part of reaching Self-Actualization is providing for the needs of those behind us on the ladder

I said the same thing about a month ago, not the way you did. I just said "at it's core, this country is broken"
