Only in a totalitarian society do we all have to agree with each other! No one has a monopoly on truth. We should always be willing to assume maybe someone else knows something that we don’t know, and at the very least isn’t a bad person just because they don’t agree with us.

It’s a tenant of Leftism known as Repressive Tolerance. Herbert Marcuse who mentored Angela Davis came up with it. He was from the Socialist Frankfurt School & taught at Columbia. The doctrine says, Repress the Right & let the Left say anything they want. It’s in full effect.
