Only in a totalitarian society do we all have to agree with each other! No one has a monopoly on truth. We should always be willing to assume maybe someone else knows something that we don’t know, and at the very least isn’t a bad person just because they don’t agree with us.

Thanks Marianne. Please, let's start by acknowledging each other's humanity. Not recognizing "the others" humanity is how we got in this mess in the first place.

Truth is unchangeable, facts are facts, maybe you are referring to opinions? How can anyone have a monopoly on truth? Either one follows truth by moving towards it or gives a pass to lies because they like the team that is lying. The latter is not ethical and quite dangerous.

civility yes but TRUTHS are not opinions..they're facts~ opinions show us who a person is...myopic? selfish? bigoted? ignorant? callous? base? compassionate? all-encompassing? environment-minded? connected to the whole? etc gradients on whether having a moral compass or not

diff.opinions is one thing, extremism is quite another and there is a line where obvious 'right is right and wrong is wrong'..ie bigotry, kids in cages, xenophobia, denial womens' health, homelessness, lack of healthcare, elder care. etc...'all that is needed 4 evil 2 succeed...

I don’t care how bad a person’s opinion is, as long as they are $$ out of politics.
