No, neoliberalism is not “just as bad.” It is stupid. It is wrong. It is treacherous. It is fucked up. But. it. is. not. fascism.

It leads to fascism only if no one stands up to it. A lot of people complaining now did nothing to stand up to it over the last decade. As someone who did, I saw the reluctance people had to complaining about Obama etc

So now that we didn't do anything about it like attract more people to our cause it's almost as spiteful to be saying " fine, let them get rounded up & murdered since they didn't learn" as it is to be the ones rounding them up.
Hard to argue with nihilists.
No, @marwilliamson, you're wrong. Lots of folks mistakenly believe this, which leads them to be incapable of understanding how we got Trump. You can't build all of the infrastructure needed for a fascist state & claim that all folks have to do is resist. Doesn't work that way.

"It's not as bad as fascism so long as enough people resist it for their entire lives, and if they don't then it becomes fascism."
Did you forget about the Occupy Movement? People literally camped out in the street for months, and were kicked and beaten by police. This is and issue that has been on people's minds and agendas for a century!
That's exactly what we're doing: we're standing up to it. We're not giving it our vote. The buck stops here.

To be fair, we didn't stand up to it since 1992.
You’re making our point for us. Supporting neoliberalism is supporting the growth of fascism. Saying we must stand up to the growth of fascism, but not neoliberals who foster that growth doesn’t make sense.

And how, exactly, is supporting the conditions that lead to fascism "standing up to it"? Where is the evidence that neoliberals are going to do anything different this time? They think Trump is a one-time evil... they just want to go back to ignoring problems again.
