No, neoliberalism is not “just as bad.” It is stupid. It is wrong. It is treacherous. It is fucked up. But. it. is. not. fascism.

It leads to fascism only if no one stands up to it. A lot of people complaining now did nothing to stand up to it over the last decade. As someone who did, I saw the reluctance people had to complaining about Obama etc

Voting for it seems at least marginally like “not standing up to it.”

Marianne you have some good points but your problem is that your loyalties are tethered to a party that is controlled by neolibs with the same puppet masters as the GOP. Trying to make a nuanced lesser of the 2 evils is a pitfall that is irrational. Put #peopleoverparty #DemExit

It leads to Fascism whenever libs and fauxgressives defend it as a lesser evil, as long as it's defended as being "not quite as bad."

Marianne we have no voice without violence, then we push a further police state martial law. I feel sometimes that's their plan. Push us into violence then call for martial law. Segregating the entire Country.

I would love to know this plan to ‘stand up to’ the neoliberalism->fascism pipeline that you’re going to carry out, that obviously no one has ever tried before and also will be successful. Can’t wait to hear back

Although Biden isn't "historic" like Obama, Kamala is. I think that most will be unwilling to stand up to Joemala for that reason. I worry that dissent will be drowned out by the deafening sigh of relief that they booted Trump. To be clear I'm not pro Trump and want him out.

Neo-liberalism fundamentally slows the process by which people would stand up to fascism; while simultaneously accelerating the process by which fascism can arise. It creates a landscape where the competency of the central fascist figure need not be very high .

Pinochet’s Chile (brought to you by Milton Friedman and his stans) shows how neoliberalism and fascism go hand in hand. “Privatisation” was first primarily used in Nazi germany to describe its economic measures.
