No, neoliberalism is not “just as bad.” It is stupid. It is wrong. It is treacherous. It is fucked up. But. it. is. not. fascism.

It ultimately leads to facism, so what is really the difference?

That’s the same line every election and people are sick of it. Even the fear of a Trump re-election isn’t enough to steer them away from the right. That says all we need to know. They’ll never work on it with us, they will always stand with the GOP.

Just to be clear are you tweeting from 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, or beyond? Because if the left keeps supporting people like the Crime Bill guy they'll just keep using this argument to force us deeper into fascism. But it'll be a bit slower so I guess you're okay with that?

Four years of neoliberalism is four years where the poor continue to starve and fascists continue to build their ranks. Four more years of neoliberalism would not put fascism on pause. It would not provide the material conditions to fight fascism because it is just polite fascism

Then you’ll support the authoritarian if they win the nomination, and say we’ll have four more years after that, right?

Oh come the fuck on. You really think a decaying, collapsing neoliberal hegemony is going to reverse the drivers of fascism?

We had 8 years to work on it under Obama and it gave us Trump. What makes your think anything will change by giving neolibs power again? Liberals are gonna go back to not caring and the left will be ignored. Atrocities will occur. We'll get worse than Trump next time.

How many people complaining now about neoliberalism did absolutely nothing during the Obama years to complain or try to change things? I think it would be different this time.
