Studying about the rise of Hitler, one of the things that stands out is that he signaled everything he was going to do long before he did it. But people didn’t believe him. They thought it was just crazy, he must be joking, that that could never happen in such a strong democracy.

I admire you, Marianne but it's incredibly lazy to compare Trump to Hitler. Everybody does that to their political opponents. The president is much more like a right wing Chavez, or if insist on the WW II analogies, media-savvy Mussolini.

Our democracy, is not strong, it’s weak! Look at how Trump has skirted so many of the provisions in our constitution. But the much bigger issue is the millions who are supporting and will vote for him! That’s much scarier. Not the man himself. We must reach out to them, somehow.
