What’s irresponsible is to pretend that what’s happening is not happening. Although I understand that if people only get their news from Fox News, they might not realize what’s happening.

Also, a lack of education. 20 years ago there was such a focus on STEM as opposed to teaching the humanities, that teaching history got short shift. If you don’t learn about the Bill of Rights when you’re a child, you don’t know as an adult to be appalled when it’s under attack.
