During World War II, fascists and Nazis were trying to take over the world and Americans marshaled all our efforts to push them back. Today, Americans are deciding whether or not to give them a second term.

If he was a fascist we wouldn’t have an election. Yes, there is a lack of institutional control but that was before him. People are still getting arrest for breaking laws, on both sides.

A chilling reminder. Thank you Marianne, for always being out front with the truth. We must come together now.

I mean, they spent 10 years or so hoping the Nazis would fight the Communists. And then the Nazis made a deal with the USSR and they still had to wait for enough popular support for the war.

Part of this American mythology is that they played a decisive role in destroying the Nazi war machine in WWII. They didn't. The Soviets shouldered the brunt, losing 27 million. In comparison, the US only lost 400,000.

And then we dropped 2 nukes. Are we really waxing poetic about the US roll in WWII? Don't forget we didn't get involved for a LONG time.

Hmm, it was actually the Soviet Union that led to the defeat of the Nazis while the US aligned with the fascists in the Cold War. Distorting this with neoliberal faux patriotism does the help the real dangers of fascism in the US. washingtonpost.com/news/worl… npr.org/2014/11/05/361427276…
