We definitely need to ditch GDP as a measure of how well things are. It needs to be replaced with a metric of well being. 40 years of neoliberalism has delivered us to this disturbing moment of broad based despair. Bring on "Well Being Economics"

Imagine a world where the bottom line of our economic system was the amelioration of human suffering, inequities, injustice and the destruction of our environment. Our best and brightest would dedicate themselves to solving those and be rewarded for doing so.

Regardless of how distant that possibility feels at this moment, we cannot ever abandon the ideal it represents...We can be SO much better than this, America! Imagine indeed...鈽笍馃寧鈿栵笍
