Perhaps because lawyers dominate the political class who lack basic understanding of Econ and it’s implications while thinking that they’re smarter than us. Trump is a complete conman aberration. If he’s able to pull The Big Con one more time, we deserve it.

It’s not enough to be contrite. We must address those wrongs and right them. As you have also said, we must offer more than just platitudes, and so we must offer policies that address root causes. Nothing short of systemic change will cut it.

Who is we? Most of us are struggling just to pay our bills & put a little aside for retirement & it was like that before the pandemic. My luxury has been being able to “afford” insurance premiums.
