Markey’s win in MA tonight was important for a lot of reasons. One, because it showed the political will is there to create serious progressive change. And two, because it proves the importance of electoral politics in helping to make the change happen. Congrats to all involved.

He won because he was established in an ultra-liberal state. Kennedy's name was known for his work was not as well-known. His family will continue to serve and so will Ed Markey.

Kinda shows that @TheDemocrats should have gotten rid of @SpeakerPelosi years if not decades ago, certainly past her prime, best by date has come and gone

I think the most significant aspect of it is that the Dem establishment (the Kennedy dynasty, Pelosi etc) got rebuked by the progressive candidate
