@marwilliamson believes a Biden presidency would put a pause on the current meltdown of the country. What exactly would that pause look like? Will it pause police brutality against black people? It didn’t under Obama. Will it pause the economic catastrophe triggered by COVID-19?

Trump & the Dems have already paused the economic catastrophe for the 1%. Are Biden & the Dems going to pause it for the 99%? They’ve already shown they won’t. Will a Biden presidency pause the new Cold War against China aka “Pivot to Asia” initiated by Obama? The answer is NO

So what would a Biden presidency pause @marwilliamson? The rise of Fascism?Too late. We’re already there, in the form of the Corporate State, & the Democrats paved the way. The only thing a Biden presidency could possibly put on pause is the rise & influence of the left.

You can talk about a complicated situation in simplistic terms, but that doesn’t mean it’s not complicated. The corporatist duopoly its like two broken legs and two broken arms; the Trump agenda is like a bullet near the heart. Our democracy has to be alive if we’re to heal it.

Thanks for replying. I agree it’s complicated. However, Facism via the Corporate State isn’t simplistic. Those are terms used to define the current system, in great detail, by leading academics such as Sheldon Wolin in Democracy Incorporated. youtube.com/LGc8DMHMyi8

I’d also challenge the idea that we can keep our democracy alive by voting for Biden. A dangerously demented man nominated with the help of party insiders & their corporate media outlets in a severely undemocratic process. Fact is, we’re not a democracy & never have been.
