We need to take on the absurd canard that helping people will weaken them, make them dependent or disincentivize them. I’ve thought a lot about what’s given me whatever success I’ve had & I’ve realized main 3 things: 1) someone helped me 2) someone helped me 3) someone helped me.

So many people seem to be so easily distracted from this issue. Important to keep focus on it.

Stop gaslighting. Stop conflating the term “helping” with the term “enabling” The two are NOT the same, and no one on God’s green earth is discouraging people from helping one another. Your messaging is a lie.

"I worked hard. Nobody gave me a handout".- white privilege liberals starting in second base

Intrinsic worth, security, confidence & an appreciation of giving and receiving help is the thread that will unravel our oppressive, rigged, system. That’s why @AndrewYang wasn’t allowed to use the words “Universal Basic Income” at the DNC convention.

Lets also put to rest the idea that having more free time makes people unproductive. It allows people to gravitate toward what they love, do well & are curious about. Shorter work weeks for REAL living wages would create an artistic, intellectual & entrepreneurial renaissance.

great thought! analogy: if the "no hand out" types had a friend who asked for help moving (for example), they wouldn't be like "no because then you'll get lazy, you should do it yourself". sometimes people just need help to set up their base before they can help themselves.
