A lot of people talk about how Biden needs to “earn my vote.” Of course he didn’t “earn your vote.” But I think this is less about what he owes us & more about what we owe millions of people in this country & billions throughout the world who will be affected by a 2nd Trump term.

I get the idea but I’ve “owed” every election. I owed for Clinton, I’ll owe to keep Cotton out, I’ll owe to keep Don Jr out, I’ll owe to keep Ivanka/Kushner out. When exactly do I stop owing and they owe me?

It’s more like a debt. He has an advance guarantee on my vote and owes some real progressive policy in return. With interest!

1Agree. Though the platform put forth last night was very good, in some ways it felt like the impetus to punish the corporate wing and people most likely deemed stupid enough to vote for them felt stronger than a compassionate understanding of the wisdom of protecting the most

If we choose to make that argument, we have to acknowledge that a Biden administration will also affect billions, many poorly.

I disagree, sister. They demand our vote and offer nothing in return. That’s not how it works.
