A lot of people talk about how Biden needs to “earn my vote.” Of course he didn’t “earn your vote.” But I think this is less about what he owes us & more about what we owe millions of people in this country & billions throughout the world who will be affected by a 2nd Trump term.

Team Biden and the Democratic establishment asserted all along that 'the kids won't show up', which is why they were 'forced' to chase moderate Independents and 'Never Trump Republicans'. Was the calculation to give the middle finger to the future of the Party incorrect? 🤔🤔🤔

Marianne, we are on the outside looking in at the Democratic Party, a party that refuses to budge to help people with Medicare for All. A Party that votes with Republicans so many times. A party that votes with Repubs to go to war.

What people mean when they say "earn my vote" is precisely that - he hasn't offered anything of substance and in fact promised that "nothing will fundamentally change" which is what millions in the US and billions outside of it need - change.

Can we not use marginalized people as a crutch to justify politicians unfit for this moment? As a black man, my fate is about the same either way, the difference is only in messaging. I can't speak for anyone else but I imagine others feel that way too.

That’s not what voting is about... voting is about choosing someone who represents your values. And neither of them represent mine & a lot of other people’s. It shouldn’t be “choosing the lesser evil” and if we allow it to be that, who’s to say it will be different in the future?
