Why don’t the Democrats focus on courting Democrats and worry a bit less about courting Republicans? I’m certainly not a genius at math, but that would make sense.

Yes because acknowledging the fact that Republicans are breaking with their party because they can't in conscience vote for Trump so they're voting Democrat is a bad thing.

That’s a good thing of course. Also the work of the Lincoln Project etc. But the Democratic convention spent more time highlighting Republicans than it did highlighting whole swaths of Democrats & their issues.

The Lincoln Project exists to ensure that if Biden and Harris win, the GWB-era neocons don’t have to worry about rebuilding the Republican Party to see their ideas enacted, the Democrats will do it for them.
