Reminder: The Hatch Act is not a “norm” or a “tradition” - it’s a federal law that any staffer who worked on this convention has absolutely broken and can be prosecuted for.
Marianne, there will come a time when the Trump admin is no longer in power. Depending on the statute of limitations, these violations can be prosecuted. I just hope the next AG has the will to do it. If laws aren’t enforced, they are meaningless and invite more violations.
I think Attorney General 's office and it does not have to be done immediately, for obvious reasons, as long as it is within the statute of limitations period
