Somehow, following a 17-year-old killing two people, the Kenosha police chief defends the mobilization of vigilantes to his town: “Across this nation there have been armed civilians who have come out to exercise their constitutional right and to potentially protect property.”

This is par for the course. This is the stance of virtually every police department in America. This is the norm. This is why reforming the police isn't possible. But we can and must change society so we no longer need them.
