Looking pretty unlikely Marianne. Capitalism has a shelf-life and we're rapidly approaching it's end... if a peaceful revolution does not happen soon, a violent one will, and will end in either socialism or fascism.

That’s historically inaccurate. The non-violent Indian independence movement ended with the British leaving India, and the civil rights movement ended with civil rights legislation dismantling segregation and passing the Voting Rights Act.

When he talked about those things in the context of race he was fine (relatively). It’s when he started talking about the war in Viet Nam that he was killed.

It must be acknowledged that the single greatest threat to the American Empire is an organized working class, something that both parties are stalwartly against. To be anti-war, anti-poverty, anti-police violence means to be anti-capitalist.

He also was killed because he was organizing a strike and quite possibly a #generalstrike. He knew his days were numbered.

And the people who hated him then now use him to disavow the actions of people literally carrying his legacy. It’s disgusting and disheartening how they’ve effectively erased so much of the man’s actual words/work.
