Almost everyone right now would be well served reading a basic book about American history. Knowing our historical landscape gives us two gifts: 1/ we’ve been through very, very, very tough times before, and 2/ our pattern over time has always been to self-correct. We will again.

Especially read, 'JFK & the UNSPEAKABLE,' regarding the REAL murderers of JFK. They don't give us this history in school! (Also, read 'The Devil's Chessboard.' FASCINATING!

More of this!!! We so desperately need to be reminded of the times we did prevail❤️ That collective remembering gives substance to the hope we all need to feel right now & shines a light on the false vision the other side is painting by telling us it will get only worse😞

Really Marrianne we've always been a highly racist country, some have always come out of our tailspin's, with minorities almost always left behind, we've been in this since Reagan.

History is one thing. But the changes we are undergoing now are much deeper and more profound than we have experienced in the past. The USA has entered a chrysalis stage. It will look like chaos for awhile as we transform into something radically different.

We started most of this work in the late 1960s. Civil rights, feminism, Stonewall. But we stalled out during the 80s and 90s as we needed to re-examine, regroup, and refresh our energy. Now we’re charged up to finish what we started. This is big. Fasten you’re seatbelt.

As the giant ship of our institutional industrial complex breaks apart, we each must cling to a piece of the resulting driftwood for survival. Then we will find each other, link our pieces carefully with those of others to become a new raft of both diversity and collaboration.

Well said as usual. History tells us that the politically benign last 50 years in the US has not been the norm.

Ya think??? Why stop there. I think almost everyone would benefit from a lot of reading. As you say, people are woefully underedicated about race... lets add like 100 other topics.
