Let’s not hold that thought. The universe is filled with the possibility of new beginnings.

A peaceful political revolution; I agree.

Looking pretty unlikely Marianne. Capitalism has a shelf-life and we're rapidly approaching it's end... if a peaceful revolution does not happen soon, a violent one will, and will end in either socialism or fascism.

A violent revolution in this country would definitely end with fascism.

The nonviolent way also seems to lead exclusively to fascism 😔

That’s historically inaccurate. The non-violent Indian independence movement ended with the British leaving India, and the civil rights movement ended with civil rights legislation dismantling segregation and passing the Voting Rights Act.

The civil rights movement never ended. And that is one of the problems ... and the Voting Rights Act was dismantled. The violence is all around in the MIC, prison/slavery industry, discrimination, wealth inequality, homelessness, poverty wages-it’s just not touching you.

The Voting Rights Act was chipped away at but not dismantled. And you’re absolutely right about everything else you said, but the question remains how to deal it.

It wasn't just the non violent movement that led to Britishers leaving india. It was also the violent freedon fighters who started taking out powerful British officers all over the country.

Do you REALLY think the civil rights movement was non violent?!

nah, that’s a deliberately bowlderized narrative - one that omits the major role played by events like the Royal Indian Navy mutiny of 1946 and the Holy Week Uprising
Yes the British left and how many Indians died? You want that? Of course not. Also, do you expect the racist white people killing black people to, what? Go back to Europe?
india is now literally a fascist country, marianne

I appreciate you trying to keep hope alive. I don't find either of those examples especially heartening (the Civil Rights Movement was obviously good, but it trained fascists to simply deracialize terms for racist policies), but I appreciate it nonetheless.

When he talked about those things in the context of race he was fine (relatively). It’s when he started talking about the war in Viet Nam that he was killed.
