1/ I think the younger you are the more you know certain things and the older you are the more you know certain other things. I think the older ones among us are keepers of the story, and sometimes knowing the stories of the past can inspire or comfort us in the present.

2/ So here’s a story from the past I want to share with you. I know it because I was there. They killed JFK. The tears flowed, but we survived. They killed Martin. The tears flowed, but we survived. They killed Bobby. The tears flowed, but we survived.

3/ They killed students at Kent State. The tears flowed, but we survived. They sent our friends and loved ones to an unjust war, and they killed our leaders. The tears flowed, but we survived. I have faith that is born of experience: our tears are flowing now, but we will survive

We will survive, only if we choose to learn the lessons.

That’s simply not true. The black men that are gunned down did not survive. The ppl dying due to no universal healthcare did not survive. The ppl in for profit prisons for petty crimes did not survive. The kids denied good education & addicted to drugs did not survive.

But, you can see with the group that was randomly accosting people in DC, leaders of the left are sorely missed. Killing them off has been detrimental for reaching out and teaching young people who are angry, frustrated and fed up with the duopoly that has failed over and over.

Course. All those things happened and everyone just sat there and "survived" You're fucking kidding me right? That's not how my mom and aunt tell it. Some of their friends didn't "survive" some of grandpas brothers never came back. What dream world were you living in?

Who is the “we” because black people have been massacred. It’s genocide. This tweet is some form of erasure and denial. Jacob Blake survived too but,. How many of us are crippled and families damaged and caged after “surviving”?!

i feel like a lot of people are getting tired of "crying and surviving" in the perpetual wake of endless bloodshed. hence the push left by so much of the youth

If you have the slightest knowledge of history, you will realize we fought back plenty.
