Northern California fires are at the edge of an ancient redwood forest where the oldest tree is 2000 years old. The tragedy of what’s going on there is immeasurable. 🙏🏻

Let me set your mind at ease on one narrow point: Redwood forests are not only highly adapted to fire, they actually NEED fire. They don’t release and germinate seeds until there is a fire. So the tragedy IS immeasurable, but it’s not a tragedy for the redwood trees.

This is so awful!! My heart goes out to everyone affected and all those fighting the fires. I’m near the fires in Colorado and can’t imagine what they’re like in California. It’s devastating!

Fires are an important part of their cycle... We were fortunate enough to visit them and the Sequoias last year.

The fires are actually good for the ancient redwood forests. The largest trees have been burnt many times. Trees that succumb create shelter for new growth and insect populations. So, not all bad. :) nbcnews.com/news/us-news/2-0…

I wished we had more compassion for violent crimes as we do for the redwood trees. That to me is the tragedy.

I wonder what choice of energy space and consciousness we can now BE to change this? :) 🙏🐬🙏
