What Republicans and some Democrats call “far left” refers to policies (free healthcare, etc) that in most European countries are considered mainstream and moderate. In those countries, our slavish devotion to trickle down economics is what would be considered extreme.

Then why are Democrat run cities such disasters? The so called far-leftists in Seattle, Portland, Mpls etc do not hold out promise for those policies.
