Biden should appoint a Presidential Commission on Recreating Law Enforcement. It should consist not just of “police experts” but of regular citizens, sociologists & social workers. And it should be actionable. We have to start thinking this way; we can’t just “reform” what is.

To me, “reform” and “re-creating” are very different. But tell me the language you think we should be using that at this point will move the needle forward.

We're in a negotiation now. Given the rampant criminality we've seen, #AbolishThePolice is perfectly appropriate as an opening offer. If you're opening bid is a fraction of fairness, the only possible deal is that you cheat yourself.
