I don’t see it the same way. For too long America has been able to look away from such things. There are many times in history where a change has occurred only when enough people actually saw something and felt something. No one can see that video and not see it and feel it.

Looks like the empathy needle hasn't moved an inch since BLM went mainstream.

So do what I do and send it directly to your white friends who still need to see it. We know who they are, we have their numbers. Start the conversation directly instead of hoping they happen upon it on your Twitter feed.

just because white women like you and I didn’t pay attention earlier and it took us graphic videos of murder to understand, doesn’t mean that it’s the only way to get people to care, especially if it means sharing video that is re-traumatizing to an entire demographic.

Let’s be honest, you’re not talking about America as a whole. You mean white America and this notion precludes an inherent character flaw that requires the viewing of Black death to see value in Black life. What a sad indictment on white people to feel that’s necessary.

The fact that you felt completely comfortable showing up to speak over Black people on this issue speaks volumes

Gods, you just absolutely refuse to listen to Black people on matters of race. That's RACISM, Ms. Williamson. The thing you SAY you want to eliminate.

So whatever fleeting enlightenment or motivation white folks get from "seeing it and feeling it" is worth the continual trauma that Black people experience from seeing it, feeling it, And living it every day. Got it. Thanks. Love and light.

This is why you didn't become the Presidential nominee - because of glaring blindspots like this. If you have to see BLACK DEATH to "feel" it's real, then you are the fucking problem. You truly are.

It was never a question of available video quantities/qualities on murdered Black lives for White folks to see. It was always if there were available quantities of quality White folks to see the terror of their own & others’ Whiteness that murders Black folks for centuries.

I hope you’d be fine to say that to white women. That you don’t take such a harsh view to woman being raped and killed in broad daylight on camera because *maybe* it’ll elicit some pity in men. You’re a fucking ghoul
