I don’t see it the same way. For too long America has been able to look away from such things. There are many times in history where a change has occurred only when enough people actually saw something and felt something. No one can see that video and not see it and feel it.

you’re not Black so it doesn’t matter how you see it. you are not the one being harmed. you are not, in fact, the center of the universe. if video moved white folks on this issue IT WOULDN’T BE AN ISSUE ANYMORE. but, hey, if you know white folks whom this would help, email them.

This statement just confirmed the theory put forth in Wilderson's #Afropessimism was right. Y'all really need to see Black death and suffering to understand your own humanity, huh?

If seeing black people murdered is the only way for you to feel like making change then fuck your entire existence. There have been LOTS of videos that y’all so casually ignored until 2020.

You are listening to yourself & not to Black people. Change that.

It causes more trauma so please stop

Maybe YOU were able to look away. Because there are a whole lot of pictures, and films, and history that has shown what happened over and over again.

But that's not true. The only people who "get it" when they see those videos are those who already care. White people are very capable of seeing violence against BIPOC and saying a person who was MURDERED deserved it. Those videos cause trauma not conversions.
