I don’t see it the same way. For too long America has been able to look away from such things. There are many times in history where a change has occurred only when enough people actually saw something and felt something. No one can see that video and not see it and feel it.

Marianne. Do you need to see multiple videos of violent rapes to be “aware” that rape happens? Should we post violent child pornography online so that people can “wake up” about child pornography? Are you dense? Are you thick??
Naw, naw, naw Marianne.....what needs to happen is those traumatic ass video clips need to stop being shared because it does nothing! Why do you need to see Black blood spilled at the hands of white men time and time again to believe it or do something about it? No!
Retweeting footage of Black death and Black trauma can be an overwhelming, insensitive, (re)traumatising post. Seeing the words is hard enough. There’s probably not a way to talk abt murders or violence without emptional stress, but I don’t want my (re)tweets to add to the pain.

I have nightmares of Philando's murder at least twice a week because the news cycle just wanted keep it on loop. Sometimes I'm him, other times I'm his partner and sometimes I'm the child in the back seat. I shouldn't have to be traumatized for folk to care about my life.

If you haven’t been moved by the countless other violent lynchings of Black people at the hands of the police, then you are beyond hope. Please fade into the farthest recesses of our collective memory and do it fast.

Ummm you don’t get to say what harms Black people. You’re policing their trauma. I don’t need to see ANOTHER video to know we need to take action against the police shooting Black men. The first video was enough. Actually, we shouldn’t even have needed one.

Since you're part of the white oppressor class, your opinion on this is useless. You entered 'race work' with elementary level education & these college level professors are telling you you're wrong. Get some education, stop harming people & start dismantling the oppressor class.

The caucasity to come into a Black woman’s space and do anything outside of take notes and learn is absurd.
