I don’t see it the same way. For too long America has been able to look away from such things. There are many times in history where a change has occurred only when enough people actually saw something and felt something. No one can see that video and not see it and feel it.

That’s the thing though. We shouldn’t be putting Black people through even more trauma just so that we can show white people their humanity. If they’re not going to feel it without a video, at this point, that’s on them. The movement goes on.

The more of them that get it though, the quicker the movement reaches critical mass.

No one asked you. Sit down.
The video records a crime; after it was initially made public (so the police couldn’t deny it), it should only be seen again in a courtroom. It doesn’t need to be re-shown, over and over, on social media, traumatizing Black Americans. They live that awful reality 24/7/365
When Black people are telling you not to repost because it is traumatic, listen to them. I wouldn’t want men to post videos of women being attacked just to show how “woke” they are to rape. Please listen.
Listen to Black women, Marianne.
How much do you need to see to satiate you? Were the documented whippings of the enslaved followed by having brine thrown on open wounds not enough? Or the picnic atmosphere of lynchings from which people took human body part trophies? How much will ever be enough for white ppl?

You, a white woman, have nothing to say to Black people about this, Marianne. Nothing. Go back to sniffing your crystals.
A) if Black folks tell you to stop this because it's painful EFFEN STOP. B) if you *still* need to see this to understand, you haven't been paying attention.
