.@tedwheeler Why are you not having a public forum where police and Black Lives Matter & city leaders are working on having a deeper communication? Portland is full of the kind of people who know how to facilitate that kind of thing.

Literally 90 days of riots. The time for "deeper communication" is done.

No, that’s when it’s critically necessary.

Perhaps it’s because Mayor Ted Wheeler has a disturbing amount of power to the office of mayor— who is police commissioner under the city law.

They did. It didn't work. The BLM movement is forever poisoned by violent action and vandalism BY ONE GROUP. This is not protest- it is criminals taking advantage of the protest. Non violent protesters in support of Black Lives need to get a new group and CHANGE THE NAME.

This is why I love Marianne. She just states easy and simple common sense, and yet it seems to evade so many of our leaders. They would rather rile up their "side" and make it a political war, rather than having the actual participants communicating directly.

This should have been the goal from the start. Every city in America should be addressing training and policy of their police departments. Instead of throwing bricks on the outside go into the council chambers and demand changes.
With all due respect, every city does have public forums they are called city Council meetings.
I don't know and do not understand.
Have you heard hawk Newsome? He believes men can have babies.. and says until blm gets what they want they will destroy the system as we know it... no peaceful talk can come from that
