1/ Before I go to sleep tonight, I’m going to say a prayer for my country. There’s a line in A Course in Miracles that says “God does not give you victory in battle; he lifts you above the battlefield.”

2/ It reminds me of Rumi’s poem: “Out beyond all ideas of good or bad, right or wrong, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” Whatever is going on in this country, it’s going to take more than the mortal rational mind to heal it. Fortunately a greater power exists in each of us.

3/ Dear God, please do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Heal this country and heal our hearts. May the waters of forgiveness dissolve the walls that divide us. And so it is. Amen.

Our rights come from God and pre-exist government.

I keep reminding myself to stay “above the battlefield” through these polarizing times - It’s the line from the Course that I think of most these days!

I wish you good luck with that, but thoughts and prayers so far have not helped with mass shootings or the #TrumpVirus.

Only Jesus’ return can cease all of the evil in this world

While you are kind to pray it's going to take an overt miracle to fix the mess that is our country. Maybe a Noah's ark situation to wash away some of the worst filth in people I've seen in my lifetime. #invokethe25th.

The favor of God in life comes from our obedience to the commands and teachings of Christ. Not from doing Christianity.

I hope it works Marianne. I truly do. I am deeply worried after the events particularly of today that within the next week or so there could be seriously violent and deadly skirmishes the likes of which the number of casualties from Kent State will pale in comparison to.
