Marianne, obviously her parents weren't listening to her in private. I've been through this. Some people are so self involved they need a shock to their system to snap them out of it. Perhaps her public wails are louder than her private ones in such a public family.

I am appalled at how so many people (particularly women) are stepping out to tell a young woman how to live her life and what behavior is appropriate or not. Please let her deal with her hurt and grief her own way. That is the only way she will work through it.

As a parent can't help but ask why, after 4 yrs, do u think Ms. Claudia hasn't *already* tried to 'handle' their issues? Emancipation is not undertaken lightly; & toxic seldom heals while you're in it. My ex and our grown daughters seldom speak & only live a few miles apart.
