The @PortlandPolice made a loud statement today. They have attacked #PortlandProtesters nightly for almost any infraction. But when the Proud Boys come with guns, shields, and metal pipes, and beat protesters and aim firearms, the police do nothing. They sent a message.

This is what always happens. Cops will either let fascists operate unimpeded or actively support them, while cracking down hard on those who oppose the fascists. It's a pattern that goes all the way back to the 20s and 30s, in countries around the world.
