Sorry, you lost me on this one, Marianne. I'm a member of the disappearing breed of lifelong blue collar workers who have been happy to work with our hands and seek 'fulfillment' after work. I'm just sad that young people today can't earn a decent living without a degree!

So why can’t “a good education” mean a diversity of opportunities to learn trade work, additional courses, or anything else you want to know or practice for whatever you want to do? And if employment goals change midlife, you can still go back for more?
