I heard Betsy DeVoss say in an interview that she had never visited any of America’s failing schools. That’s typical of many politicians; they don’t actually visit the poorest neighborhoods in their districts or states because they assume the poor don’t vote so it doesn’t matter.

The DeVos interview was 60 Minutes in March of 2018. I wrote some perceptions that night.

Unfortunately we don’t vote. We need to figure out how to turn that around. @CoriBush is the first elected official that has a life I can relate too. Progress!

On point, politicians are routinely so far removed from what life is like for the run of da mill American. An inability to relate is really a lack of empathy. When Dr's are studying a disease, they don't do it from 30,000 feet, they dig in get up close and intimate on the problem

I live in Holland, Michigan, Miss Betsy's home town. Last night about 80 of us Protested outside of her home about denying schools funding unless kids and teachers risk their lives returning to school with Covid19 ravaging the nation. We will storm troop her Mansion again soon.🗣️
