That literally hasn't been true for 50 years. Productivity has skyrocketed whole wages have stagnated.

The rate is irrelevant. Productivity has gone up massively over the past few decades, wages have not. Productivity has been completely decoupled from wages.

It’s funny, when I talk to my conservative parents, they think government should feed clothe and house its citizens, but they think socialism is fascism.

That sounds like a wage problem to me. Perhaps the CEO could hold off on buying his 3rd vacation home and do something about it.

Am I missing something here? Was there another purpose for government? I thought helping people was the whole job. My bad! I guess I've been teaching it wrong for 20 years. I'll have to go back and check the SOLs to see what I'm doing wrong.
