A basic fundamental problem, seemingly universal among Republicans and covertly present among many Democrats, is an ideological aversion to the idea that governmental resources should be used to help people.

Its widely known that government resources are to be distributed to corporations etc so they can return a percentage to the backpockets of congressman.

and it's their own tax money they're being denied, so those taxes can be donated to wall street.

Or maybe more money in our pockets let’s us CHOOSE efficient organizations to donate to that help people. The federal governments job is to protect us, that’s it.
