I’m not speaking there in support of a new party necessarily; I’m speaking there in support of a new conversation. And that I believe is essential. The article in Politico today had a very misleading title and I’ve made that clear to everyone involved.

I don’t really understand what you just said. Explain? And did I ever say that I’m “a Democrat to the core?” I ran as an independent when I ran for Congress.

You ran for the United States presidency is a Democrat. Your commitment to the Democratic party is written into many of your books. If you want to change that commitment fine. But you do need to decide if you're in or you're out. These people have a point.
