Can you call the U.S. a democracy when by law it only allows the effective participation of two parties that represent different wings of the white minority capitalist ruling class? Who represents the interests of the majority who are the workers & nationally oppressed?

What’s innaccurate is the “by law” part. I agree with you about what the 2 parties are at this point but the lock they have on the process only started in the 60s and 70s. Third-party voices used to have far more power, and we simply have to break the chokehold the two have now.

There is a People’s Party convention on Aug 30 with Nina Turner, Cornel West, Ryan Knight, Jimmy Dore, and others, exploring a third party for 2022, 2024, and beyond.

He’s right. In most states, the duopoly has enacted ballot access laws that create substantial barriers to third party participation & electoral success.

Even before that, almost everyone in Congress was from one of the two parties, for ages. We need some other system; ranked choice voting, removal of electoral college, for example. Or even better, contemporary proportional representation.

Several laws protecting the duploy. Unconstitutional, but exists to say the least. How feds allow the states to dictate General election rules is beyond comprehension.

Not true! I saw a newspaper snippet a while ago where Henry Clay was shaming regular Whig voters who were considering voting third party 😂
Would you consider helping to build the Green Party?
There is no chance for democracy as long as Buckley vs Valeo exists
