Friends in Cedar Rapids and other Iowans, please tell us what we can do to help. Is the Red Cross the best place to contribute?

NOT the Red Cross. Most of the monies collected do NOT go to the emergency at hand.

Democrats think they could make a change. But all I see is a freaking Donkey trying to fight an Elephant.

Thank you for the tweet. Many are on day 8 without power. The situation is getting better but people need to know just how bad it was/is here. hacap.org is usually a good place but there are many more groups helping.

Local orgs have been mobilizing best I've heard. Cedar Rapids BLM has been doing great work to provide food and supplies, donate link below
Almost a week on and most of my hometown is without power, many don’t have food or the resources they need. If you can, please chip in to the local @ASJ_BLM. They’re providing free meals, supplies, and help to anyone who needs it. givebutter.com/alliesrallyfo…

Are you kidding me? They are not even open. As a matter of fact there is no places open to help anyone during this pandemic. So what is the protocol for a crisis within a crisis?

Just in general the Red Cross is usually fine, I've always found it more useful to support local mutual aid orgs and the like.
