It’s a scary moment to be sure. Some civilizations have fallen but some have risen; the choice which one we will be lies in our hands. Cynicism will not serve us now - it’s just an excuse for not helping - but optimism mixed with courage and love will make us stronger.

My principle worry comes from 40 years of americans most often making poor choices, in defiance of obvious good decisions. I shall try to hope. Its all we've got. May we be lucky.
