1/ They always compromised with democratic principles a little bit here & there, always justifying or denying what they were doing. That weakened our immune system so much that when a full on attack on our democracy happened, it couldn’t handle the assault & now lies near death.

2/ But that’s not the end of the story; our democracy isn’t dead yet. Each of us needs to become an immune cell in our diseased & broken body politic. On levels macro & micro, our lives are readjusting to turn us into who we need to be in order to do what we need to do right now.

If you define progressive as policies that help the people not the elites, bringing back jobs, cutting payroll taxes, holding down the price of fuel, ending winless wars, are all to the benefit of the common citizen.
