This should be a lesson to everyone on the left: never, ever, put your faith in a politician - I don't care who they are. Elections were never gonna fix this corrupt system. Time to leave this pointless game in the dust.
Congratulations to @KamalaHarris, who will make history as our next Vice President. She understands what it takes to stand up for working people, fight for health care for all, and take down the most corrupt administration in history. Let’s get to work and win.

I see it somewhat differently. Elections ARE going to fix it, but not if we keep viewing politicians as the only people qualified to fix the mess that they created.

Today's liberal would have voted for Ceaușescu.

I'm not sure what you mean here, Marianne. Either way, I don't necessarily blame Bernie. The DNC rigged the game. So now Bernie is trying to salvage what he can. But to me, this is all about the Capitalists protecting their own while the working class might not survive til Nov.

Bernie is a politician I trust; there are others as well. But when I ran I saw an audacious political elite claiming only they are really qualified to lead us out of the ditch they drove us into. There were & are amazing progressives running; voters have to show up & elect them!!

You were my second choice after Bernie, and you saw what happened to him. Do you really think someone capable of enacting the massive change we need would ever be allowed to win an election?

Elections are the aftermath of mass movements, and almost aways seek to regain the equilibrium, pre-movement. This "Law and Order" ticket is a slap in the face to the movement for Black Lives. There will be very minor reforms, not wholesale change.
I'm putting all my faith in Marianne now!
